How To Remove Front TV In A Phaeton Motorhome?

Removing the front TV in a Phaeton Motorhome is much easier than it looks. However, it requires some muscle work, so if you think the TV is heavier for you, get a friend who can help with the heavy lifting. Let’s start.

Step 01: Unscrew The TV Front Cabinet

Most RVs come with a cabinet made for easy removal of TV. That is a straightforward process, so this doesn’t need any discussion. The problem starts when it is a closed cabinet.

This is how you can unscrew the Phaeton Motorhome TV cabinet.

  • Locate the screw and any bracket around the cabinet.
  • The screw can be hidden under the side panels, so uncover the board and remove the screws.
  • Don’t forget to turn off the TV and disconnect the wires.

Step 02: Pull Down The TV

This is hard because a slight mistake can break your old TV. Usually, there are four screws on the corner holding the TV. Carefully unscrew the. Hold the TV while unscrewing with one hand or take help from someone else.

After unscrewing, slowly pull out the TV from the cabinet and put it somewhere safe. Use the required tools from the list above. Screws can be different.

Step 03: Dismantle The Cabinet

If you plan to install the same size TV on your Phaeton Motorhome, you don’t need to remove the cabinet. But most plan to install a new one, so it needs to be removed.

Carefully unscrew all the screws that are holding the cabinet. Once it is down, slowly put it down on the floor, completely unscrew all the brackets, holders, and other gears and remove every part so you can build a new one for a new TV.

How To Install Front New TV (Flat/Tiffin) In A Phaeton Motorhome?

Installing a new TV in front of a Phaeton Motorhome is precisely the opposite of removing the one. However, some things need to be modified to fit the new TV. Pulling can be done by one person but installing requires two for safety.

Some people prefer Tiffin shaped TVs in front, and some prefer Flat TVs. Both have slightly different installation processes, so that I will discuss both below.

Step 01: Take Measurements

New TV can be tiffin type or flat and different size from the old one. Take measurements of that TV’s height, weight, and depth and put marks on a hard board that will be used for making the cabinet.

Step 02: Make a New Cabinet

Make a cabinet with exact measurements from the new TV and use the new wooden board. But you can use old brackets.

Step 03: Put The TV Inside The Cabinet

Once the cabinet is in place, install the mount, put the TV on its location, and screw it tightly. If it feels loose, then remap it.

Step 04: Do the Wiring

Connect all the necessary wires, such as a power cable, TV box if you have any, and others.

Step 05: Enjoy

That’s all. Enjoy your favorite show.

FAQs.

Technology changes daily, so people change the TV on their Phaeton Motorhome RV after some time. However, people could be more expert and want to change it themselves, which raised many questions. I will answer some common ones.

Can I Use the Same Frame For New Front TV In My Phaeton Motorhome?

Yes, it is possible to use the same frame as long as the measurements are okay. The TV size must match the old TV size and cabinet size so that it fits properly. Loose fitting is never appreciated because the TV can get damaged while traveling bumpy roads.

What To Do If The Old Wall Mount Breaks During Removal?

First, you need to see if the back panel of the wall mount is metal or wooden. If it’s wooden, then it cannot be repaired. You will need to buy a new one. The metal wall mount can be fixed by smelting though it won’t be solid.

What Is The Maximum Size TV I Can Install In My Phaeton Motorhome?

The wall mounts for Phaeton Motorhome are built for TVs from 13 to 43 inches. However, installing a 50 inch TV on a 43-inch mount is possible if you have that much space. But, it is not ideal.

What Are The Best RV TV Wall Mounts?

Many manufacturers try to make the best quality wall mounts that don’t need a cabinet for your phaeton motorhome RV. Here are the top four on the current market: wali RV tv lockable mount, wali RV tv lockable mount,mount-it lockable RV tv mount, and perlesmith lockable RV wall mount.

Conclusion

Most people who use an RV go on vacation for a couple of days, and in the time we are living, life is hard without television. Besides, technology is frequently changing so is the size of TV also.

Some prefer old-school tiffin-type TV, but most like bigger flat-screen TVs as they give a better entertainment experience. I wouldn’t suggest that you put a hole directly into your RV for installing a wall mount because it will look very unpleasant from the outside.

Instead, you can use solid glue and a wooden panel, stick it to the wall, and drill that instead. It would be best if you could fit in the old mount. And if you are doing it alone, always remember to always keep one hand on the TV.
