What is the Main Function of the Forest River RV Water Pump?

The primary function of any RV water pump is to pressurize the RV water lines and force the way out of water. Its functioning involves pressure release, which eventually activates the water pump.

As a result, water is available whenever you open the faucet. However, shutting down the tap means that the water lines in your RV won’t have any pressure and will ultimately turn off the pump.

Besides, when you maintain this water pump well, it functions well for a long time. If you take good care of the water pump in your Forest River RV, it can last up to 10 long years.

Where Can You Locate the Forest River Water Pump?

Depending on the RV manufacturer, the location of the water pump will differ. For the Forest River RVs, the water pump is located on the backside of the docking station in the RV basement storage or sometimes on the bathroom vanity. The way you can access the water pump is described in the steps below.

Step 1: Remove Panel Staples

In this procedure, I’ll explain the access to the pump under the bathroom vanity. The first step in this process would be to remove the panel above, and for this, you must take out the panel staples attaching the panel with the help of a flathead screwdriver.

Step 2: Pop the Trim Pieces

The panel also consists of a few additional trim pieces. You need to pop them out with the help of a screwdriver.

Step 3: Take Out the Staples Under the Trim Pieces

Once you remove the trim pieces, you’ll see some additional staples. Remove those staples in the similar way you used them before.

Step 4: Remove the Side Panel

Using a similar process of staples removal, take out the side panel beside the main panel covering the water pump.

Step 5: Remove the Wooden Frame Panel

Once you remove the side panel, a wooden frame panel exists with two screws hooking that up. Use the screwdriver to take out the screws and the panel.

Step 6: Adjust the Water Lines

Before removing the main panel, you have to adjust the water lines. The reason is mainly to ensure safe removal without damaging the panel or the water lines.

Step 7: Remove the Main Panel

Once you are done with everything, remove the panel very carefully, and then you’ll have proper access to the water pump.

Solutions for faulty Forest River Water Pump:

The water pump in your RV can get broken, or the components connected may need fixes. But since the focal point of everything is the pump itself, you’ll need to access it.

Below are some problems listed with solutions that you should check out.

Broken Water Lines

The water lines are directly connected to the water pump. If everything is alright with the pump, the pipeline connected may be faulty or broken.

In this regard, you must check the pipes from the water pump. If leakage or something down the pipeline is broken, it will require replacement or repair. Mere cracks would need some repair and fittings.

But if the damage is severe on the pipes, you have no other way out than replacement.

Inadequate Water

It is not an issue or something that needs fixing on the pump. Instead, you must be aware that your tank doesn’t often run out of water.

To be honest, the pump won’t have any way to flow out water when it doesn’t have any in the first place. In such a scenario, you’ll see your water pump pushing out air, which might seem like a problem, but it isn’t. Therefore, filling up your water tank would mitigate the issue.

Electrical Problems

Electrical issues are prevalent in vehicles. If you see that your water pump isn’t working, there’s a high chance that no current flows in the pump.

In this situation, you’ll have to test the wiring that runs down to the pump. After testing whether the wires are functional, you need to repair or replace them. Mostly, the cracks or breaks in the cable require replacement.
